The New Minstrelsy of the Scottish Borders 1805 - 2005
Walter Elliot is the author of this new book published by Deerpark Press. The book was launched at Abbotsford on the 5th October 2006 in front of a large gathering, some of whom were contributors to the many poems and ballads contained within this book.
The book contains over 250 poems from local Borderers who had written them in the period 1805 to 2005, the significance of the dates reflecting the publishing of Sir Walter Scott's Minstrelsy in 1804.
Walter Elliot told the audience how this book with its wide range of poetry had enabled him to pull together so many of the strands of his wider historical interests, and it had been a pleasure to undertake this work.
